Reptiles of Similajau

Similajau is home to a variety of wonderful wildlife. Reptiles being one of them. Green Turtles (Chelonia mydas) used to nest at the Golden and Turtle beaches long time ago. One will be lucky enough to be able to see them swimming in the sea nowadays. The estuarine or saltwater crocodile (Crocodylus porosus) is found in most of the rivers in the National Park. Latest survey conducted at Similajau river on the population resulted to an average of six individuals spotted every kilometer. As for snakes, we have a number of them...

Unsure of the species tho...

Jelly Fish Season!

Found these dying jelly fishes closed to shore last week..so it's the season now!Well,we will usually discourage visitors to do any water activities during this period as it stings.

Jellyfish stings depending on species. Like the Box Jellyfish, it is recommended to seek for medical help immediately. As for other jelly fish stings, one can just rinse the affected area in vinegar.

There are spots on some part..probably spots indicating an adult jelly fish?It is also larger than the one below.

While this is clean transparent and smaller
